The best place to store surplus food is in people’s stomachs! Therefore, we have made an effort locally to provide food to individuals without question. To qualify, they just have to be hungry and be able to eat!

The program is quite simple. We gather several pallets of food and place it in a line with tables and volunteers put the food on tables and pass it out as people come through the line with the boxes or containers they brought. When participants arrive we have them sign a liability waiver, sign in and they receive a number. We give everyone the opportunity for dignity by giving a cash donation of $15 to help cover fuel costs and other associated expenses. We do not sell food!

Ruby's Pantry is not a govenment program. It is self-funded by the those who particiapate. Ruby's Pantry is "a hand up, not a hand out." In reality, people feel good helping the organization with a small financial contribution. Often the families will leave with over $100 or even $200 worth of groceries.
